Marie S. Brown (M.F.A., Directing, 2010) just completed a very exciting project directing a collaborative group of artists called TRIIIBE in a major exhibition at the 808 Gallery in Boston, MA. A selection of pieces from this show were then moved to the Dodge Gallery in NYC where they will reside for another few weeks. Since then, Brown has been collaborating with several artists from this group on two different new projects: the production of a stop animation film and a reproduction of The Nomadic Dream Project at the Prague Quadrennial, which was first created by an ensemble of UT students for the 2009 Cohen New Works Festival.

Mark Schatz (M.F.A., Studio Art, 2005), currently teaching art at Kent State, will have work in an upcoming show called New Image Sculpture at the McNay in San Antonio. He will be attending the member’s preview on February 15th and at the general opening on the 16th. The show will be up through May 8th.

Nate Heiges (B.F.A., 2001 and B.A. Plan II Honors, 2002)

Nate Heiges (B.F.A., 2001 and B.A. Plan II Honors, 2002) will be exhibiting new work in Khaki Dreams of Plush, at Primetime in Brooklyn. The show will include a large drawing, fabric pieces and, of course, a drinks piece.

The opening event will be on Wednesday, January 19th from 6 to 9 pm.

Cherise Lukow (B.M., Music Performance, 2009)

Cherise Lukow (B.M., Music Performance, 2009) moved to Paris after graduation, and has performed as a FAVA guest artist for the city of Paris at both the l’Hôtel de Ville de Paris and la Residence de l’Ambassadeur des Etats-Unis. She was awarded the top prize for female voice in FAVA’s Grands Concours de Chant, and signed with the Added-Lewis International Artists Agency. She also received the first prize mention marked “à l’unanimité avec les félicitations du jury” at the Ecole Normale de Musique de Paris.
