Catalogs, which determine a student's degree requirements, are updated every two academic years beginning in the fall semester. Typically, students follow the most recent catalog based upon their entry to The University of Texas at Austin or another Texas public college or university after graduating from high school. Students are also permitted to opt into a newer catalog when degree requirements or credentials offered are more desirable; they must be enrolled at UT Austin during the catalog's two-year window. Questions regarding catalog eligibility should be directed to the student's academic advisor.
