Acting

B.F.A.

Courses cover stage acting with training in devised work, film, television and new media. B.F.A. in Acting students have the option for a semester-long residency in their final year with the UT Semester in Los Angeles Program.

Arts and Entertainment Technologies

B.S.  

Courses cover how to use technology to create immersive experiences in both digital and physical spaces, with an emphasis on hands-on learning about game design, event lighting, creative coding and other forms of interactive and immersive media.

Art Education

B.F.A. 

Curriculum combines studio art and education. Leads to K-12 visual arts teacher certification in Texas. 

Art History

B.A.  

A comprehensive program that covers history of art from diverse time periods and regions around the world. Includes option for honors program.

Dance

B.F.A. (with or without UTeach Dance certification option)

Courses include technique classes, alongside studies in performance, choreography, teaching and dance history. UTeach Dance option leads to K-12 teacher certification in Texas.

Design

B.A. or B.F.A.  

Courses focus on how to design solutions for real-world problems using graphic design, industrial design, interaction design and design research.

Jazz

B.M. 

Emphases are available in jazz performance and composition. 

Music

B.A. 

Concentrations available in musicology-ethnomusicology, music and media, music and health and self-directed study. 

Music Composition

B.A. or B.M.  

Styles and genres include band, orchestral, choral, chamber music, electro-acoustic music and film scoring. 

Music Studies (Music Education)

B.M.  

Extensive training in music teaching and learning with practical field experience to prepare for K-12 teacher certification in Texas. Choral and Instrumental emphases available.

Music Performance

B.M.  

Performance areas include winds & percussion, strings, keyboard and voice. 

Studio Art

B.A. or B.F.A.   

Courses in this multidisciplinary arts program include painting, drawing, photography and media, printmaking, sculpture and extended media and transmedia (video/performance/digital media).

Theatre and Dance

B.A.  

Emphasis areas are available in dance performance and choreography; design and technology (including stage management); history, literature and dramaturgy; performer's process; playwriting and directing; and theatre for youth and communities. 

Theatre Education

B.F.A.  

A comprehensive curriculum in theatre, drama, technical theatre and educational methods, combined with in-depth field and student teaching experiences that leads to K-12 teacher certification in Texas.
