SNAPSHOT: "Sound of Music" Cast and Backdrop

In February, Texas Performing Arts hosted the national tour of The Sound of Music as part of the Broadway in Austin series. While in town, the young cast members toured Bass Concert Hall, where they had a behind-the-scenes look at the original backdrop from the 1965 Sound of Music film. The backdrop is part of TPA’s Hollywood Backdrops Collection, the most extensive educational collection of Hollywood motion picture backdrops in the world. The backdrops are in active use as a teaching tool for students from across campus in classes taught by Theatre and Dance Assistant Professor of Practice Karen Maness.
