College adds new minors in Music, Dance and Theatre

The College of Fine Arts has added three new minors for undergraduate students at The University of Texas: Music, Dance and Theatre. These new minors allow students from across campus to explore the arts in classes that complement the coursework in their chosen major.

Minor in Dance

The new Minor in Dance is open to all undergraduate students, excluding Theatre and Dance majors, who are following the 2026-2028 Undergraduate Catalog. The minor includes 15 semester hours of coursework, and applications are now open.

Minor in Music

The Minor in Music is open to all undergraduate students, excluding music majors, who are following the 2026-2028 Undergraduate Catalog. The minor includes 15 semester hours of coursework, and applications are now open.

Minor in Theatre

The Minor in Theatre is open to all undergraduate students, excluding Theatre and Dance majors, who are following the 2026-2028 Undergraduate Catalog. The minor includes 15 semester hours of coursework, and applications are now open.

With the addition of these new minors, the college now offers six minors, including Art History, Arts Management and Administration and Studio Art. The university also offers Bridging Disciplines Certificates in Design Strategies, Digital Arts and Media and Museum Studies.
