Scott Proctor (M.F.A. Studio Art, 2007) is included in a two-person exhibition at The Mariago Collective (Houston). The exhibition will be on display through September 6 and opens August 2.
Quinton Morris (D.M.A. Strings, 2008) received tenure and promotion to Associate Professor of Violin and Chamber Music at Seattle University. He is the first music professor in 28 years at Seattle University and the second living African-American violinist in the United States history to receive this honor.
Dr. Thomas on Permanent Exhibition in Virginia

Dr. Rad Thomas (B.F.A. Studio Art, 1957) completed a portrait of retiring federal judge Samuel Wilson for permanent exhibition in the Poff Federal building, Roanoke, Virginia. Thomas completed his doctorate under Dean Doty and helped supply the research material used to bring dance into the College of fine Arts.
Photographer Mike Osborne (M.F.A. Studio Art, 2006) recently published his first book, Floating Island. The project revolves around the border-straddling community of Wendover, Utah and West Wendover, Nevada, located on the fringe of the Great Salt Lake Desert. The photographs, shot during Osborne's time as a participant in the Center for Land Use Interpretation's Wendover Residence program, have appeared on Hyperallergic, Time.com, and Wired.
Umlauf Sculpture Garden and Museum Curator, Katie Robinson Edwards (Ph.D. Art History, 2006) was interviewed on KUT. Her new book, "Midcentury Modern Art in Texas", is on sale through UT Press.
David Waddell chosen to participate in Fresh Arts Program, Houston

David Waddell (B.F.A. Studio Art, 2003) was chosen to be one of nine artists to participate in Fresh Arts inaugural Community Supported Arts program. He created 50 individual ink drawings on tracing paper, which were distributed to patrons in the Houston community.
Jules Buck Jones' (M.F.A. Studio Art, 2008) work and home are featured in Glasstire. With a few other artists, Jones started a small studio collective on the East Side of town in the Monofonous Press Compound. His work is inspired by nature.
