Philip Martin (M.F.A., Studio Art, 2000) opened an art exhibit for Tomory Dodge in his Los Angeles based gallery. 

Michael Berryhill (B.F.A., Studio Art, 1994) opened the Night Gallery in Los Angeles showcasing his exhibition, “Romancing the Stoned.”

Assistant Professor of Instruction in Art Education at UT Betsy Murphy (B.F.A., Art Education, 1980) will be recognized as the Higher Ed Division Outstanding Educator of the Year at the fall Texas Art Education Association conference.

Katherine Luber (M.A., Art History, 1985) was appointed Director of the Minneapolis Institute of Art and has previously been director of the San Antonio Museum of Art.

John McAllister (B.F.A., Studio Art, 1999) opened at the Richard Telles Gallery in Los Angeles where he showcased chromatic vibration and Nabi-inspired decorative painting.

Gregg G Wiggans (B.F.A., Theatre Studies, 2004) directed Steve Yockey’s Pluto which was presented at Broadway’s Circle in the Square. Hank H. Hehmsoth’s (M.M., Piano, 1976) work on “Scary Movie” was praised by film reviewer James Jay Edwards and is receiving a Blu-Ray special edition release from the American Genre Film Archive. Hehmsoth was named a 2019 Morroe Berger-Benny Carter-Edward Berger Jazz Research Scholar by the Institute of Jazz Studies at Rutgers University and is working with a 2019 National Endowment for the Arts NEA ArtWorks grant. James A.
