Michelle Shanks

Michelle Shanks (she/her) is the Undergraduate Admissions Manager. She leads prospective student recruitment events and communications and supervises the college's undergraduate admissions and recruitment staff. As a first-generation Department of Theatre and Dance alumna, and a former fine arts teacher of fifteen years, Michelle is passionate about the need for and value in welcoming students and their families to campus and introducing them to the endless opportunities that await them if they pursue a degree within the College of Fine Arts. Michelle received her B.F.A. in Theatre Education from The University of Texas at Austin and her M.Ed. in Higher Education Administration from the University of Houston. For her work directing the First-Gen Longhorns program, Michelle was recently chosen as the 2023 recipient of UT’s Student Success Champion Award. Off-campus, Michelle is an active TTAO Adjudicator for the University Interscholastic League’s One-Act Play Contest and a proud wife and mother.
