Hana Hillerova (M.F.A., Studio Art, '04)

will exhibit her latest sculptures constructed of mirrors at the Lawndale Art Center in the John M. O’Quinn Gallery in Houston from March 7 – April 12 in conjunction with FOTOFEST2008. An opening reception is scheduled for Saturday, March 7 from 6:30-8:30 pm with an artist talk at 6 pm.

Kathryn Holliday (M.A., Art History, '94)

has just written a new book entitled “Leopold Eidlitz: Architecture and Idealism in the Gilded Age”. It is the first critical examination of the work of New York architect, Leopold Eidlitz, America’s first Jewish architect, founding member of the American Institute of Architects, and the first American to define a modern organic architecture; this book reveals his formidable influence.

is the lead guitarist and multi-instrumentalist for Okkervil River, a band whose recent album “The Stage Names” received ‘best of 2007’ honors from NPR, Rolling Stone, Harp, and others. Brian has recently performed live with Okkervil on NBC‘s Late Night with Conan O’Brien, NPR‘s World Cafe, BBC Radio 1, Radio France, and the Australian Broadcasting Company.
