Lindsay Genshaft receives Jon Lipsky Playwriting Award

Lindsay Genshaft (M.F.A., Theatre, 2011) received the 2017 Jon Lipsky Playwriting Award. Established in 2014, the award is dedicated to the memory of Jon Lipsky, the late playwright and artist-in-residence for the Museum of Science in Boston, and is given annually to the writer whose script best exemplifies standards of excellence in museum theatre.

Robert Di Donato joins Queer Scouts, participates in residencies

Robert Di Donato (B.A., Theatre and Dance, 2016) is a core member of the New York-based performance troupe Queer Scouts. The troupe was selected for a new residency at the Abrons Arts Center in Manhattan after completing a full residency at Dixon Place Theater in New York City. After the completing their residency at Abrons, Queer Scouts is set to develop a new production to perform in fall 2017.

Austin Ferguson appointed as carillonneur of the Mayo Clinic

Austin Ferguson (B.A., Music, 2015) was appointed in February 2017 as carillonneur of the Mayo Clinic. He is only the fourth person to hold this post in the instrument's 89-year history. His duties include performing eight half-hour concerts a week, giving tours and performing for and with local groups and events.

Dylan Morrongiello to perform in ‘Oklahoma!’ at Glimmerglass Festival

Wei He named founding artistic director and dean of the new Juilliard campus in Tianjin, China

Wei He, Butler School of Music alumnus, was named founding artistic director and dean of The Juilliard School’s new Tianjin, China campus. He is a longtime professor at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music and artistic director of the annual San Francisco-Shanghai International Chamber Music Festival and will relocate to China later this year.

Mia Theodoratus appointed to Sarah Lawrence College and Mozartina Conservatory faculty

Mia (Amelia) Theodoratus (B.F.A., Harp Performance, 1990) was appointed to the music faculty of Sarah Lawrence College and Mozartina Conservatory in Tarrytown for the 2016-17 academic year. She is a featured performer in country music legend Jessi Colter’s album The Psalms, released on Sony Heritage.

Radford Thomas to show work at Virginia Tech

Radford Thomas (B.F.A., Art, 1957; Ph.D. 1970) has two paintings included in the exhibition Research in the Abstract: Visual Art Inspired by Scientific Research at Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine and Research Institute. The exhibition is on view from April 7 to July 31.
