New York Experience

A group of students are backlist by lights and marquees on Broadway in New York City

New York Experience

Spend the first part of your Spring Break as part of an interdisciplinary cohort of artists and creatives learning about the career possibilities of New York City. This three-day experience will focus on exposing students to career pathways in theatre, dance, music, and visual art institutions. Students will attend meetings and networking events with potential job sites, and will also have time to attend shows and performances.

Previous New York Experiences have taken students to the Brooklyn Academy of Music, Lincoln Center, Metropolitan Museum of Art, Public Theatre, Metropolitan Opera, DIA, BRIC Arts Media, the Whitney, and the New York City Ballet, among others. Students who attend will be exposed to a multitude of career pathways in the area of arts and arts management.

The application process will be selective, as the small cohort chosen will have their airfare and hotel fully covered by the College of Fine Arts.

Details

Students who attend the trip will be expected to attend all of the site visits, networking experiences, and activities. Students will have some free time during the trip to explore the city on their own or in groups.
