Arthur Bryan Marroquin (B.A., Theatre and Dance, 2013) will star as Corey in the feature film Urban Country, alongside Walking Dead star Brighton Sharbino and Lou Diamond Phillips.
Dan Kurland (B.M., Music Performance, 2010) graduated in May with a D.M.A. in collaborative piano studies from The Juilliard School and will join the music staff of Theater Hagen in Hagen, Germany, in August. Over the summer, he will perform at the Aspen Music Festival and with Martina Arroyo’s Prelude to Performance Program.

Henry Smith selected as MASS Gallery Hotbox Resident Artist
Henry Smith (B.F.A., Studio Art, 2017) was named one of MASS Gallery's Hotbox resident artists, Aug. 7 to Sept. 9. The program features a series of multimedia installations and performances.
Wesley Schulz Appointed Associate Conductor of North Carolina Symphony
Wesley Schulz (M.M. 2008; D.M.A., Conducting, 2010) has been appointed associate conductor of the North Carolina Symphony.
Andrew Sigler Appointed Assistant Professor at the University of Tennessee
Andrew Sigler (D.M.A., Composition, 2014) has been appointed Assistant Professor of Music Composition at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Sigler served as Lecturer of Music Composition at Tennessee for three years prior to this appointment.
Department of Theatre and Dance alumna Madilynn Garcia was selected to participate in Rising Leader of Color, a program sponsored by Theatre Communications Group. The honor includes year-long curriculum designed to provide professional development and networking opportunities.
Carson Kreitzer named a MacDowell and Guggenheim Fellow
Carson Kreitzer (M.F.A., Playwriting, 2006) is a 2017 MacDowell Fellow and Guggenheim Fellow. Her musical LEMPICKA will have a workshop at Williamstown Theater Festival in August.
Jacqueline Hinton (B.F.A., Dance, 2001) will perform in the production Anaïs, A Dance Opera in Avignon, France on July 7-30, as part of the L’Off Festival. This production will be one of the few American groups presenting. The opera will also have performances Sept. 8-9 at The New Vic Theatre in Santa Barbara and Sept. 28 at The Musco Center for the Arts at Chapman University in California.
Abe Koogler’s (M.F.A., Playwriting, 2014) latest play, Fulfillment Center, was reviewed by the New York Times, which described it as “finding poetry in missed connections.” The play runs off-Broadway through July 9.
