Natalia Anciso (B.A., Studio Art, 2008) will have a solo exhibition, Natalia Anciso: They Try to Bury Us, at the Joseph Gross Gallery at the University of Arizona. It features extensive forms of media including paintings, drawings and tapestries, and the exhibition highlights a range work from the past six years. The exhibition, which will run Nov. 13–Jan. 26, is supported by the Dr. Joseph F Gross Endowment, Lionel Rombach Endowment and the University of Arizona School of Art.

It includes examples of individual works from several of her series over the past six years. Andrew Parker named principal oboe with Hendersonville Symphony Orchestra
Andrew Parker (D.M.A., Applied Music/Performance, 2013) was recently named principal oboe of the Hendersonville Symphony Orchestra and Brevard Philharmonic Orchestra, second oboe of the Spartanburg Symphony Orchestra and instructor of oboe and music technology at Brevard College. He is also a regular substitute musician with the Asheville and Greenville Symphony Orchestras in South Carolina, and he’s has been appointed artistic administrator at the Brevard Music Center Festival and Institute.
Jen Prince (B.F.A., Acting, 1998) produced and co-edited a feature film, Quality Problems, a comedy about cancer. Quality Problems, which is an official selection of the Austin Film Festival, screens at 7 p.m. on Oct. 28, and 5:45 p.m. on Oct. 31. Prince and others who worked on the film will participate in a Q&A following the Oct. 28 screening.
Joseph Kingma takes first prize at international competition
Joseph Kingma (D.M.A., Piano Performance, 2017), assistant professor of Music at Louisiana College, took first prize at the 2017 Franz Liszt Festival and International Competition held at Ohio State University.
