Career Services Manager
Calder Kamin’s passion for helping artists with their professional development began as an undergrad student at the Kansas City Art Institute. Her background includes curator, gallery director, academic advisor and manager for higher education and city government programs that provide business education specifically for artists. Her role at UTFACS is to provide skill-building workshops, one-on-one advising and internship/job placement for students and alumni.
Nature’s endless ability to reuse and adapt inspires her to eliminate waste and reimagine it as art. Calder has presented her work at the Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art, Utah MOCA, The American Museum of Natural History, SXSW and Women & Their Work. She is the 2018 Artist-in-Residence at the San Antonio DoSeum and one of two Texas artists awarded a 2019 Mid-America Art Alliance Artistic Innovations Grant.
