On March 25, the Butler School of Music celebrated the 15th anniversary of a pledged $55 million gift from Sarah and Ernest Butler at the Symphony Orchestra concert. With this 2008 gift, the school was renamed the Sarah and Ernest Butler School of Music. The concert’s program included the world premiere of Assistant Professor of Practice Farkhad Khudyev’s The Sounds of Eternity and the U.S. premiere of Haji Khanmammadov’s Concerto for Kamancha and Symphonic Orchestra.
