Alumni in the News

Jim Friedhofer (B.M., Music Education, 1986) has spring 2019 performances scheduled as a member of the Houston Symphony Chorus (Orff, Carmina Burana; Rachmaninoff, The Bells) and as a member of the La Jolla Symphony Chorus (Bernstein, Symphony No. 3, Kaddish). In June 2019, he will participate in the Longhorn Alumni Band at the 75th D-Day anniversary ceremonies in Normandy, France. He also continues practicing as a civil litigation lawyer in Friedhofer PC in San Diego, California. 

Allison Ebling (B.A., Theatre and Dance, 2011), has finished the first national tour of The Bodyguard and School of Rock. She is currently Head Audio on the first national tour of Anastasia. 

Jonas Criscoe's (B.F.A., Studio Art, 2006) work  featured at the two-person show "When Everything's Been Said," was reviewed by the Austin Chronicle.  

Tamara Johnson (B.F.A., Studio Art, 2007) is the co-founder of the new outdoor sculpture venue, Sweet Pass Sculpture Park located at 402 Fabrication St. in Dallas. The park will present its third exhibition, Outdoor Cat, based on a shared nickname for sculptures that "live outside." Virginia Lee Montgomery (B.F.A., Studio Art, 2008) is featured among 15 artists selected for The Socrates Annual, the culminating exhibition of a fellowship program presented by Socrates Sculpture Park.

Ryan Hawk (M.F.A., Studio Art, 2017) has solo exhibition Sweet Surrender on view at the Lawndale Art Center from December 8, 2018 – March 3, 2019. 

Gabriel Jason Dean's (M.F.A. Playwriting, 2012) play Heartland, which looks at the personal stories from the war in Afghanistan, is part of a National New Play Network rolling premiere currently on stage at the Vortex Repertory in Austin.

Rodney Richardson (B.A., Drama, 2010) debuts in his first feature film, "The Day Shall Come," which premiere's at SXSW Film Festival in spring 2019. Richardson is currently acting in the TV series, "FBI." 

Jonas Criscoe (B.F.A., Studio Art, 2006) presents work in When Everything's Been Said, a two-person exhibition at ICOSA in Austin, Texas. 

Natalia Anciso (B.A. Studio Art, 2008), and her artwork are included in the recently released book, New Art, New Markets.
